In the wholesale voice market, price determines everything. Carriers use Least Cost Routing systems that automatically rank termination providers by rate and route traffic to the cheapest option first. The MRT is designed to ensure that Minutes Network holds position one on every carrier's LCR table for every route it serves. It does this not by subsidising rates or operating at a loss, but by engineering a structural cost advantage into the way calls are processed and settled.

The MRT achieves this through a combination of factors. The network's decentralised node infrastructure eliminates the fixed overhead costs that traditional carriers carry, including physical switch hardware, data centre leases, and centralised operations staff. The Jingle Plug-In removes PSTN termination fees entirely on calls where the recipient is on an integrated application. LDI license ownership in key markets removes local intermediary margin layers. And the MRT itself continuously recalculates the optimal pricing and routing for every destination based on real-time cost inputs, quality metrics, and margin targets.

The result is a termination cost structure that sits below what any carrier relying on traditional infrastructure can match. This is not a temporary pricing strategy. It is a structural position built into the architecture of the network.

Why It Matters for MNTx

The MRT is the most commercially important component in the ecosystem. Without it, Minutes Network would not hold first-choice positioning on carrier LCR tables. Without that positioning, traffic volumes would be lower. Without traffic, there is less revenue. And without revenue, there are fewer MNTx DePIN Service Fees purchases and smaller reward distributions.

Every improvement the MRT makes to the margin on a call directly increases the net revenue available for algorithmic MNTx DePIN Service Fees purchases each month. The MRT does not just win traffic. It maximises the value extracted from every minute of that traffic, which flows directly into the reward pool for node operators, stakers, network users, and the developer.
