Non-Custodial Wallets
Every phone number that appears on the Minutes Network, whether as a caller or a receiver, is provided with a non-custodial wallet to which MNTx rewards are credited. This happens automatically. The user does not need to create an account, connect an existing wallet, or take any action for rewards to begin accumulating against their number.
The non-custodial model means the wallet and its contents belong entirely to the user. Minutes Network does not hold or control the funds. Rewards sit in the wallet until the user chooses to claim them through the MNTx Portal.
This is one of the most strategically significant design choices in the ecosystem. The path to blockchain participation for most users begins with a deliberate decision to engage with crypto, typically involving exchange registration, wallet setup, and token purchase. The non-custodial wallet model inverts that sequence entirely. A user can accumulate MNTx rewards simply by making or receiving phone calls, with no prior knowledge of or interest in blockchain technology required. Their first interaction with the token ecosystem can be the moment they discover rewards have already been building in their name.
The result is a blockchain adoption pathway embedded in everyday telecom behaviour. For the broader ecosystem, this creates the potential for mass onboarding at a scale that conventional crypto user acquisition cannot match. For individual users, it lowers the entry point to zero while preserving full ownership and control of whatever they accumulate.
